Just a thought for parents...

It's our children's CQ, not their IQ--their "character quotient," not their intelligence--that will secure their futures and enable them to stand strong in battle.  from Dennis Rainey Family Life Today Moments with You, January 9

HAPPY NEW YEAR

You can never change the past. But by the grace of God, you can win the future.  So remember those things which will help you forward, but forget those things which will only hold you back.

Life Is...Just Better...with Jesus

Jesus sustains my life
The Spirit of God has made me,
and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
Job 33:4 NKJV

Think about it for a moment!
Our planet is ninety-three million miles away from the sun.  If the sun were any closer to earth, we would burn up.  If it were any farther away from earth, we would freeze.
Our planet tilts exactly 23 degrees on its axis, giving us four seasons a year. If it tilted at any other angle, we would have massive continents of ice.
The moon is the exact distance from earth to give us two ocean tides a day.  If it were any greater or lesser distance, the earth would be flooded.
The ocean floor is at an exact depth that gives us oxygen, which sustains human life.  If the depth were any different, the air we breathe would be poisonous.
The atmosphere is the exact density to keep meteors and space objects from hitting us.  If it were any thinner, we would be constantly bombarded by objects from outer space.
And Who keeps all this in perfect order?  Who keeps Earth from getting sucked into some gigantic black hole, or planets from spinning out of control, or stars from falling from the sky?  The answer is none other than Jesus~the Living Logos.  If He has the power to create and sustain the universe, how can you think His power is insufficient for you?

THROUGH MY EYES by TIM TEBOW

Here is a little excerpt from his book that really impressed me...
"My parents decided that, with three boys around the house who
were as competitive as we were, we had to institute a new rule.
I was still young, and they were already concerned about the
bragging that we were doing among ourselves.  Here was the rule:
we were forbidden from talking about our own accomplishments,
unless asked first by someone else.  If someone specifically asked
us how the game went or how we played, we could answer, but
we couldn't volunteer the information.  They based this new rule
on the admonition found in Proverbs 27:2:

Let another praise you, and not your own mouth;
a stranger, and not your own lips.
